Current Number Plate System

Today’s number plate arrangement was introduced in 2001. 

The primary two letters specify an area code . The succeeding dual characters are numbers, also known as the age identifier, exhibiting the year the number plate was registered. These are riven into six-month periods from March to August or September to February. The number values change every year.  

It is easier to trail the March code as they align by the year of registration. If a car was registered from March 2020, the number plate would depict this like so ‘20’. For vehicles registered from September, whatever the year is you add fifty to it. This means cars formed from September 2020 to February 2021 illustrate ‘70’ on their number plates. 

The final three characters are selected aimlessly.
